Altenew Sketch Challenge #1

Hi everyone!  It's Ashley, and I am so excited to be hosting the first Sketch Challenge! The Sketch and color scheme is based on one of my recent layouts found HERE.  I wanted to create a fun technique using the Halftone Circles stamp set and hand stitching.  Circles are one of my favorite shapes to use on a layout, so I love the flow of the smaller and larger circle shapes from the stamp set.

Here's a look at my original layout!

On my new layout, I thought it would be fun to use a different shape, so I went with flowers!  You can never go wrong with flowers!!  I die cut a few flower shapes from several of the patterned papers in the Reflection Scrapbook Collection.  Then I machine stitched around each one and placed them around my photo, like I did on the original layout.  I also stamped a small flower from the Adore You Stamp Set, to add to the center of each of the larger die cut flowers.

Since I created a Black title on my original layout, I decided to go with the opposite for this layout…White!  I used the Super Script die set to cut the words “Capture Today” on my BigShot, and machine stitched through the words once I had them layered over my photo.

The finishing touches on the layout were some of the wood veneers and chipboard pieces from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection.  I wanted to keep them in the same area as the embellishments from the original layout.
