June 2017 Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

by Lilith Eeckels

Welcome to the amazing June 2017 Stencil release from Altenew. If you have come from Jennifer McGuire ‘s blog, you are right on track. If not you can start the blog hop over on the Altenew Card blog.

This month is all about STENCILS. They are a fabulous product to use with our crisp inks and shimmer ink sprays. You will see so much inspiration from our card design team, our scrapbook design team and also from our guests. You'll have a hard time picking a favorite. I can't pick one, that's for sure.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to FIVE lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog or/and Scrapbook Blog by Tuesday, June 20th at 11:59pm EDT for a chance to win.

The winners will be announced on the Altenew Card/Scrapbook blogs on Thursday, June 22nd.

Here is one of the two layouts I created with the stencils. You can see the other layout on my blog which is bit further down in the blog hop list.

For this layout I picked the Tree Ring stencil and I used Rocky Shore Dye Ink to create the pattern using a foam blender.

@treeringstencil @altenew

I picked one patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection and cut out the large flower and its leaves. Then I created a layered cluster with my photo. To add flow I dropped some ink splatters over the layout using Forest Glades Shimmer ink spray and also added a reminder of the flower/leaf combination in the top left hand corner.

You can see how this layout came together in this video which you can watch in HD on YouTube or by clicking on the play button below.

Gail Plaskiewicz July 21, 2017 - 12:31 am

I didn’t realize that wood stump was a stencil! It’s very cool. I am half Italian so I love your scrapbook page! Scrapbooking is something my grandmother didn’t do but it would have been cool if she did. I don’t thing scrapbooking was a thing back in the 50’s (she died in 1962) when she would have done it. I wish she had done it. I miss her everyday,

Cynthia Johnson July 21, 2017 - 12:46 am

I love the tree ring stencil for this layout. I keeps it from looking too feminine but it’s not too masculine either. Stencils are awesome!
