How To Create Your Own Traveler’s Notebook Insert

by Kymona Tracey

Hello everyone!! Kymona here to show you how to create your own traveler's notebook insert using Altenew Reflections Scrapbook Collections pattern paper.

Let's take a look:

Traveler's Notebook has taken the crafting world by storm in the last couple of years. Everyone has one or wants to get one.  The inserts are so darn cute and come in a range of different sizes and styles.

When I look at at the pattern paper in the Reflections Scrapbook Collection, they are perfect for inserts.

Let me show you how to create one and then show you the inside. Lets go:

  • Depending on the size of your traveler's notebook cover size, your inserts need to fit inside of that.
  • My insert cover is cut to 8.50 x 9.25. The pages inside are cut a tad bit smaller on the width size. That's because when you stack the pages inside one another, they will look longer then the cover.
  • Once all of the pages are cut, put them inside of one another and get ready to staple them.

  • Staple your pages in three places: the top, middle and bottom.  Make sure to staple from the outside in.  (I made a mistake and staple it the wrong way and had to pull it apart.  That is why you see the holes above.)

Take a look at the stapled book.

Look at how easy that was!! Now you can use the scrapbook paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection to create your TN inserts.

Let's take a look at how I decorated my insert:

I used the stickers and enamel dots to decorate the cover of the TN insert.

For the first page, I used Capture Moments Stamp Set to so some simple stamping. Then I added some enamel dots to add color to the page.

I love making travel books, but I have problem stapling them, is there a tips to share please? I love yours!!!!

Kymona Tracey July 7, 2017 - 7:30 pm

Hey Kristy!! Yes, the stapling can be a bit troublesome. I have a few pointers. I think its the stapler that you use. The regular stapler does not stretch all the way to the middle. So I use a magnetic stapler that allows me to staple in the middle on Amazon. The one you see in the photo. They also have one that has a longer arm that you do not need to open up the stapler to staple. If you need those links, just let me know. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, let me know.

The traveler’s notebook is a great idea. I often purchase one before I travel but this idea is so much better. It will be a great addition to my actual scrapbooks–the design will fit right in. Thanks for sharing it.
