August Guest Designer- Reiko Tsuchida

by Lydia Evans

Hello, everyone and welcome to our August Guest Designer post!

Well do we have a treat for you today, we have the lovely Reiko Tsuchida for our August Guest Designer and she will sharing some amazingly beautiful projects. So here are what she has for us today:

Hi, Everyone! My name is Reiko Tsuchida from Japan and I'm so thrilled I can be a Altenew Guest Designer today. I felt in love with Altenew products when I saw the beautiful coordinated colors of gradations, water color feeling scrapbooking papers and floral stamps. I have been scrapbooking for almost seventeen years now. My biggest inspiration for scrapbooking is my daughters. I want to tell them how much I love and let them know there are people who love them unconditionally through making their scrapbooking albums. Time to time, those albums have been encouraging my daughters and brighten their lives. In 2015, I have started making a scrapbooking tutorial website with ideas and videos for Japanese people to share this wonderful lifework which helps and nourishes kid's mind and even mother's too. If you would like to visit my website, you can find it here- http://www.scrapbooking-101.com/

I love this fairy like atmosphere of water color feeling papers. The softness and the colors of papers match perfectly with outside pictures taken at a park or even backyard. All the materials from “Reflection Scrapbook Collection” are easy to use, and after making 2 layouts, there still plenty of papers and die-cuts are left.

I used acetate die cuts, chipboard sticker, and “Sea Glass” ink sprays- other than that, I cut from pattered papers.

I have taken so many pictures of my daughters and I am happy that I can keep scrapbooking on and on.

With already perfectly coordinated papers and embellishments, I was able to put anything I want without thinking too much. This helped me saving time! Also, I have tried splatter technique using “Jet Black” ink. Just dab “Jet Black” ink onto smooth surface and add water, take the black water to a water color brush and splatter by tapping the brush. This was one of the techniques Tasnim showed us how when she taught the very first class in Japan this summer.

Wow! How amazing were all of Reiko’s projects? We absolutely loved both of them! We hope you enjoyed Reiko’s projects as much as we did. Also make sure to visit Reiko’s Blog to see more and don’t forget to leave her some love.

Thank you so much, Reiko, for being our August Guest Designer and sharing your talents with us today! It was such a lovely treat to gaze at your gorgeous projects.
