Altenew January 2018 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

by May Sukyong Park

Welcome to the Altenew January 2018 release blog hop. These blog hops have become a ritual here at Altenew and I love them because I can tank up on inspiration. If you have been following the hop from the beginning you have come from  Kymona Tracey ‘s blog.  Her work is so beautiful.

This month is all about dies. Do you have any favourites? I do! Mine are the Peony Dream and the Rose flurries. I love all of them but I really enjoyed using these layered flowers. Another favourite is the lace die. It is so versatile. Perfect for scrapbooking and card making.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to SIX lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Monday,  January  15th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 1/17/2018. Hop over to our designers' and guest designers' blogs for more prizes. Your next stop and the full blog hop list are at the end of this post.

For the scrapbook blog I created two layouts. The first features the Creative Edges-Lace die set, the Caps Bold Alphabet die set (perfect for scrapbooking titles) and the Rose flurries die set.

I kept the design very simple and used patterned papers from both the Altenew Scrapbook collection to create the flowers. I looked for blue and green tints to go with the photo. For the title I used some glitter paper and the Caps Bold Alphabet Die to add to the wintery feel.

The flowers are very easy to create and each set comes with instructions on the back.

For some tiny details I used a couple of die cuts from the Create a Wreath Die set. Ever so subtle, but I love those little details.

You can how the layout came together in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.

For my second layout I went with those subtle details once again using the Create a Wreath Die set. I layered different papers from our Scrapbook collections. I'll be using those dainty tiny leaves a lot.

So which set has caught your eye?

Just beautiful! Stop making so many beautiful things so that no matter how much I already have . . . I want more! Dare I say I want it all ? And please lay outside especially like the way you coordinated the color blue throughout the whole page it’s so pretty. And I really like the border die and there was also a gorgeous frame in there I thought it was one of the two frames already out but I guess it could be a new one. It reminds me of the frame from the new day kit. Love, love, love!
