Hello and welcome to another day on the Altenew Scrapbook blog. Today, I’ll be showcasing the Sewn with Love Stamp and Die Sets and how you can use them on a layout. This was the first time I got to play around with the set and I did mess it up a little bit but I cheated a little bit.
First, I stamped my bottom images. I had to create a mask for part of the layout. I could have done it a little more precisely. I used the die to create a mask. I took a thin piece of scrap paper and ran it through the die cut machine. Then, with my scissors, I cut around the image left by the perforated holes. I could have cut it out a little more precisely but I didn’t want to start all over again as the stamping took really long.
I would advise you to play around a little with the stamp to get the layering right. It is easy but as it was my first time using the stamp, I had to fiddle a bit. I love the effect of the cross stitch. Next time I will use the die first.
As I was really trying hard to get everything right, I wasn’t paying a lot of attention to the ink and I got some ink smudges on the layout. I used some buttons to cover those up.
You can watch how the whole layout came together on YouTube in HD here or just watch it below:
