Welcome to the March 2018 Stencils, Ink Sprays, and Washi Tapes Blog Hop. If you have joined us from Vicky Papaioannou’s blog then you are right on track.
I am so happy to share some of the projects I made using these wonderful new products and I am particularly excited about the new washi tapes. They are just amazing and I love the size of them. They give you endless possibilities and are perfect for card making, scrapbooking and home deco. You can buy them separately or in a bundle of 5.
For my first project, I decided to revamp a wood frame using the Floral Flurries Washi Tape.
First, I added the tape to the wood panel and then I also put it on some cardstock. The next step was to cut out different flowers from the washi tape and adhere them to the frame. This adds dimension and detail.
For one of the inner panels, I used the Classy Stripes Stencil. I’m using pink and purple inks to create the gradient in colors. (Cherry Blossom Oval Ink Set and the Shades of Purple Oval Ink Set)
For some extra detail, I used the Birds of a Feather Stamp and Die Set to create my birds. The sentiments come from the Wings of Hope Stamp Set and the Happy Dreams Stamp Set.
For my second project, I combined the Watercolor Bouquet Stencil and the Dotted Washi Tape.
I started by stenciling the base image and picked two light shades: Dew Drop Crisp Ink and Minty Mint Crisp Ink. I used a blending tool to add the color. Once the base images were stenciled, I took the detailed image and went over the images with a darker shade (Aqualicious and Sweet Leaf).
For contrast, I used the Dotted Washi Tape on the right border. I had an old leaf die cut and used that to frame the photo. I also picked out some acetate die cuts from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection and adhered them to the layout creating a visual triangle.
The title was made using the Bold Alphabet Die Set and I chose a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection that had the same tones and the ink I used. To make them stand out, I doodled around the edges. I love little details so I added a little bit of shimmer using the Iridescent Spray Ink.
You can see how the layout came together by watching it below or in HD on YouTube.
