March 2018 Stamp and Die Release Blog Hop

by Lilith Eeckels

Welcome to another fun and inspiring Release Blog Hop.

If you have hopped over from Kathy Racoosin ‘s blog then you are hopping in the right direction. Did you see her amazing succulent? I just LOVE how she colored it and I am amazed at her talent.

There are lots of prizes up for grabs so scroll down to find out how to enter.

My project for the Scrapbook Blog was also made with the Mega Succulent Stamp Set. I used some Altenew Crisp inks and blended some purple, pink, green and blue shades to create a soft, muted but colorful background for my layout.

I used embellishments from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection to create two clusters, one with the photo and a second to guide over the center towards the journaling. For some sparkle, I created gold butterflies using the Altenew Gold Tape. I lined up strips onto some cardstock and used a butterfly punch to create the shapes. You could also use dies for a similar effect.

I had an arrow sentiment from a previous project lying around which I popped onto the layout. It helps the photo stand out a little more. The arrow comes from the Point It Out Stamp and Die Set.

You can see how the layout came together in the following process video or watch it in HD on YouTube.

For the next project, I used the Wildflower Garden Stamp Set.

I fell in love with this whimsical and dreamy stamp set and went for a soft pastel look for my next layout. I used a photo of me and my new cello. I have just started learning the cello and I am really over the moon. It has been a life-long dream ever since I was 5 or 6. It was definitely a memory that needed to be added to my scrapbook.

I started by stamping the lower part of the layout and mixed colors and stamps to create a subtle background.

My title is composed of different elements. The MUSIC part was made using the Brush Alphabet Die Set and the Watercolor Strokes Washi Tape. I also combined it with some tiny letter stickers and a stamp. For my journaling, I printed it out on some printing paper and added the strip to the top of the layout.

I love the soft touch of the flowers and those fun lines in the washi tape. It is a simple layout with a lot of dynamic elements.
