Hello, Altenew fans! It’s Zinia here and today I’d like to share with you another mixed media project using my favorite Altenew supplies. I'm going to apply these techniques to an art journaling page but you can definitely follow along to create a card, layout, or home decor piece.
I'm working on watercolor paper cause there are going to be a lot of ink sprays involved. The first step is to tint my background with a light wash of color. I chose the Caramel Toffee Ink Spray for that and I diluted a little bit of color with some water to lighten it up. Once that was dry, I started adding some lines with other colors of ink sprays. I used a mix of red, gold, and green but you can go for any color palette you like.
I let that layer dry completely and then I lightly misted the whole page with the Pure White Ink Spray. If you pay close attention to the close-up shots you can notice that I used the Mega Hydrangea Stencil when I used the white ink spray but the effect was too subtle. If you want the impression to be more visible, I'd recommend a stencil with a bold a big design instead of thin and fine lines like the one I used.
The next and last step is to embellish our mixed media background. For that, I used some images I cut out from the Floral Flurries Washi Tape and also a flower I heat embossed and colored from the Perfectly Perfect Stamp Set.
I really hope you enjoyed this project and you got inspired to create something fun with your favorite Altenew supplies. Until next time! Happy crafting.
