May Guest Designer: Amanda Baldwin

by Altenew

Hello, Altenew friends! Welcome to our second May Guest Designer post. If you missed out on the other guest designer post, we featured the amazing  Maryám Pérez. Feel free to check it out here.

Today, we have the lovely Amanda Baldwin once again! If you remember, she was also our guest designer last April. In case you missed reading that post, you can check it here. She enjoyed playing with Altenew products so much that she decided to make more inspiring projects! If you want to take a quick look at Amanda's creative work, head over to her Instagram feed and check them out.

Get to know Amanda!

Hi friends! I'm Amanda, a.k.a. @happy_arty_days,  and I am a super creative, photography loving, visual artist! I love working with color, pattern, & floral designs, as well as getting my fingers inky! I have an abundance of energy and usually have 4 or 5 projects on the go at one time! I only drink coffee on days ending in ‘y', and sunshine, rainbows, & unicorns are my jam! Outfit Of The Day always includes distressed denim and when I'm not creating in the studio, you'll find me at the beach with my family & miniature doxie pup!

I am so super excited to be the May Guest Designer for Altenew, and hope my projects will inspire you!

Let's check out Amanda's projects!

Hi, Altenew Friends!

Amanda Baldwin here with another Guest Designer post featuring the Live Your Dream Collection.

I just LOVE this scrapbook collection and at the time of typing this, have created 14 layouts with it so far! Yes, it's that good! But rather than rave about it, let's get my photos to show you what I am talkin' 'bout!

“Oh Happy Day”

Isn't this fresh and fun?!

I love all the pretty colors and florals in the Live Your Dream Collection, but this collection is so versatile and so much more! Live Your Dream is also perfect for scrapping about the boys & men in our lives too!

For this layout, I  was inspired by the colors in my photograph, & selected papers and embellishments to best coordinate. To cut through the crisp mint and white details, I used the soft brown foliage embellishments, Wood Epoxy Buttons and the striking, super glossy Puffy Alphabet Stickers from this collection.

I also fussy cut the watercolor stripes paper & layer two of the strips down the right-hand side of my layout. To add a touch more ‘masculinity' & texture to the layout, I folded the edges of the strips upward. Between these folds, I embellished with Die-Cuts and Chipboard Stickers.

Super simple, but so effective!

For my second layout today I have also used more of those fussy cut watercolor strips!

Oh isn't this pretty?!

The vivid watercolors in that patterned paper are nothing short of stunning! Loooooove!

That said, the orange in this paper was a lil too vibrant for this particular design – so I cut that section of paper off.  Then I adhered the remaining paper onto a white cardstock base. I created a seamless appearance to this paper by centering my photograph and embellishing with leaves and florals over the join. I further enhanced this look by gluing two of the fussy cut watercolor strips to the top of my cardstock. A great way to mix & match your patterned papers!

The Chipboard Sticker & Die-Cut Hearts are a sweet touch to my darling daughter's page, and I am adoring those smaller Wood Epoxy Buttons! Live Your Dream is so easy to create with, and because of it's sheer beauty, simple designs become masterpieces! Perfection!

And there you have it!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my projects with the Live Your Dream Collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Happy Arty Days,

Amanda xo
