Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here and today I’d like to share with you a couple of projects I created using the new Layered Snowflake Stars Cover Die A & B.
These dies work beautifully together if you layer them on top of each other, however, for this post, I decided to work with a different technique.
Most cover dies have a frame around the panel to keep the design together. While that makes cutting and handling easier, I really love how the designs look without the border.
Faux-Embossing Background
To create my backgrounds, I cut out the Cover Die designs and adhered them on a white piece of cardstock. Then I trimmed around the edges to cut off the frame. Doing that creates a beautiful background pattern without the frame and it kinda reminds me of a heat embossed effect without the mess.
I created two cards using this technique, one for each cover die.
Bonus Shaker Card
After die-cutting these panels, we are left with a lot of tiny paper pieces. So I decided to use them up to create a shaker card.
I just cut out a star window using the largest die from the Halftone Stars Nesting Die Set and filled it with the little paper pieces. They almost look like confetti!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!
