December 2019 Guest Designer: Anna Komenda

You are in for a wonderful treat today! The amazingly talented Anna Komenda is back (for the third time) and she is showering us with her beautiful projects! Get to know Anna!

My name is Anna and I am scrap addict. I started scrapbooking in 2009 as a way of documenting my new adventure – becoming a mom. It quickly grew into a bigger hobby. I discovered my passion for mixed media and painting; incorporating them into layouts and albums. Scrapbooking became a very important part of my life. Then I started sharing my knowledge by teaching live classes and creating my own YouTube channel. I met friends from all around the world and I no longer “get bored” with my life.

Hello everyone. I'm so happy to be here on Altenew's scrapbook blog. I love Altenew products so making a project for this post was pure joy. I had a pleasure to play with one of the Creativity Kits, called “Happy Floral Hearts”. It contains a layered stamp set, a nesting hearts die set, and a die with the word “happy” (Flower Arrangement Stamp Set, Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set, and Happy Die). I used them all on this mixed media page.

I started by cutting out 5 sets of hearts in different color combinations. For these, I used some colorful cardstock scraps with a color gradient. Then I glued them all together making 5 clusters. I love creating rainbow designs, so I put them in the rainbow order.

My background was made with an amazing product – Altenew's Watercolor Brush Markers. I just love how concentrated the colors are. I used 5 colors from two different sets: “Winter Wonderland” and “Tropical Fiesta”. 

The last step was to stamp the flowers from the Flower Arrangement Stamp Set. I used all of the sizes and stamped them in 5 color combinations with various sets of Mini Ink Cubes: “Cherry Blossom“, “Cool Summer Night“, “Pocketful of Sunshine” and “Shades of Purple“.
