Hi, crafty friends! Nathalie here to share a mixed media scrapbook layout featuring the Incredible Stamp Set. I chose this stamp set because of its simple and clean design. The size of each of the images is perfect to adorn large – as well as smaller – scrapbook layouts. The following video will show you more details of the Incredible Stamp Set.
Let’s get started!
A mixed media scrapbook layout sounds like a complex concept, but in reality, it is just a combination of techniques, textures, and mediums on one page. This layout combines watercolor and texture in the background with the watercolored/stamped embellishments.
Let’s work on the background.
The inspiration for this page is the new Hand-Drawn Tile Stencil, as it reminds me of the tiled walls in the streets of Portugal. I used the Desert Night Liquid Watercolor Brush Marker Refill to create the colored background. The faded texture of the stenciled impression is achieved with Altenew’s Embossing Paste and a stencil brush.
Time to create embellishments.
Now that the background for the page is ready, let’s add another layer of mixed media. Let’s create a patterned paper by combining the Watercolor 36 Pan Set and mixed media paper. Then, build the flowers using the Red Cosmos Mini Ink Cube set and Obsidian Pigment Ink with the Incredible Stamp and Die Set.
The title of this layout is also a play on mixed media. It combines dimensional die-cuts (Fine Alphabet Die Set and Bold Numerals die set) and a stamped sentiment. The final touch on the page is a few splatters of shimmer and shine using the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set. The following video will show you how the page comes together. You can watch it here or on the Altenew YouTube Channel:
Here is the complete layout and all its mixed media layers.
I am sure this will inspire you to play with your Altenew products in a project of your own. Remember, the key is in the combination of color, texture, and technique. I cannot wait to see what you create!
‘Til next time!
