Welcome to the March 2020 Washi Tape Release and Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from Nathalie DeSousa‘s blog, then you are right on track. You can also start the hop over on the Altenew Card Blog.
Check out this unboxing video for a closer look at all the NEW washi tapes!
This release is probably my favorite this year just because I LOVE WASHI TAPE and I especially love the Altenew ones because of the variety in sizes and designs. This makes creating super easy and gives you an array of possibilities.
The color-coordinated tape rolls are simply amazing. I created three projects with the Rose Petal Washi Tape. I’ll be sharing two here and a third on my blog.
My first layout uses several of the washi tapes.
How to:
- I started by lining up strips of washi tape on some smooth white 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock, letting them overlap 1/8″. I didn’t want to cut off the pieces hanging off the edges and so I used some on a card base and stuck the other edge off washi tape on another piece of cardstock.
- I used the leftover border washi design on my layout and cut the full sheet into 3-inch strips. These strips were then used to cut out floral shapes using the Fantasy Floral and Open Bloom 3D Die Sets.
- Once I had my florals I started putting together the layout. I added a strip of Floral Field Washi Tape as well as some Allium Palette and Emerald Gold Washi Tape.
- You can see the full process in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.
My second project is a card that also uses the washi tape.
My cards tend to be very simple but with some fun detail elements. I love those rough tape edges and the butterfly adds a fun dimension element.
I also filmed this project and you can watch how it came together below or in HD on YouTube.
