Get to know Lorilei!

Hello! My name is Lorilei Murphy (pronounced Lauralee) and I live with my husband and teenage daughter on a farm about an hour north of Calgary, Alberta.  I have always been a crafty girl and love to try all kinds of art and memory keeping!

Let’s check out her projects!

Coffee is a Hug in a Mug – Traveler’s Notebook Page

My first traveler’s notebook spread uses the super fun Coffee Love Stamp and Die Bundle.  I love all the sweet cups in this stamp set and decided to make a full page of the cups. First, I stamped multiples of each cup and then cut them. Next, I arranged the cups in random order on the left side of the spread.

I knew I wanted to use the “Coffee is a hug in a mug” sentiment for this page, so I made a white tag and stamped the sentiment. I had a large photo of a coffee and ended up fussy cutting just the coffee cup from the photo so that I could attach the tag! Then, I added some dimensional foam to the coffee cup to add a small shadow.

To finish these pages, I added a bit of typed journaling, the date, and a few black hearts! I love how this page turned out, it is quite simple to create!

Love You More Than Coffee – Traveler’s Notebook Page

My next spread also features the Coffee Love Stamp and Die Bundle again. This time, I was inspired to make a little cluster with the super cute french press stamp and more coffee cups.

First, I stamped the “Love you more than coffee” sentiment onto my background, and then I added some color to the stamped images with pencil crayons for a bit of added interest.

I chose a few embellishments from my stash for the base of the stamped images and layered a doily, small bag, a tag with journaling under my photo. Finally, I decided to add some more texture and dimension by stamping the floral vine from the Tea Time Stamp and Die Bundle.

Never Too Late for Tea – Traveler’s Notebook Page

My last spread features the Tea Time Stamp and Die Bundle. There are so many sweet images in this stamp set it was hard to choose! I knew the spread would have lots of the floral vine as it is so pretty.  Here, I stamped and die cut lots of the vine and then added light shading with pencil crayon to the leaves and flowers. Most of the vines are die-cut, but I also added a few stamped directly on the background for depth.

I added a stamped sentiment to a label from my stash and also added a little banner.

Finally, I paired the florals with a simple photo of my favorite tea mug.  I love how all my pages turned out, and I hope you are inspired to put the wonderful Coffee Time Creativity Kit to work in telling your stories!

A big thank you to Altenew for this gorgeous Creativity Kit and for having me as a guest!
