As a scrapbooker, the first thing I run out of is embellishments like die cuts or chipboard elements. I don't like buying three sheets of embellishments as I know I use some straight away and others I won't be able to place so I love having the possibility of creating my own. Altenew has some fabulous products that are must-haves. You can create an array of embellishments in different colours that will make crafting easier and also cheaper.
Here is a list of go-to products:
- Dot Labels Stamp and Die Set: Labels are a fabulous addition to any project.
- Terrific Tags Die Set: This die set is perfect for creating custom tags and once again they can be used on so many projects ranging from cards to Christmas Tags. You can use washi tape to decorate them or stencil a fun design on them with our Stencils.
- A fine leaf or flower die-cut such as the Hanging Garden or Rose Filament Die is perfect for adding detail.
Let's have a look at the layout I created:
I have to confess I did cheat a little when I created this layout. I lifted an older layout I created several years. I love looking through my scrapbooks and I'm often inspired to recreate a design but with new products. I took a long look at my layout which dates back to 2014 and then I started working on this one.
I created my own custom tags using the Altenew Rose Petal and Sweet Dreams Washi Tape Sets and the Terrific Tags Die Set. I placed two strips of washi on the top and working my way down the page. I love the Floral Field Washi tape which replaces a strip of patterned paper.
I made more embellishments using the Hanging Garden Die set, the Mix&Match Mariposa Die Set (I love butterflies) and the Dot Labels Die. Cutting out floral elements from paper ( I used a paper from the Fushia Soiree Paper Pad) is also a great way to create embellishments.
For my title, I used a wood veneer element. I love how this turned out and as I add a layout as design base it came together super quick.
You can watch the whole design process in the video below.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy scrapping and keep safe.
