Hello there! Today, I am so happy to show you how to create a fun scrapbook layout using the new Mixed Media inks. These new inks are amazing, versatile and easy to work with. They are the perfect ink to create crisp impressions on a variety of surfaces; all you need is a bit of heat to set them in place. Just imagine all the crafting possibilities.
The new Mixed Media Inks are the perfect way to bring color and texture to your projects. Let me show you:
The new inks are water soluble which means they can be treated as a watercolor like medium. All you need is a small amount of water to dilute them. The pigment in the ink creates a soft hue of the color that can easily show on a light and dark background.
The key to building the layers of mixed media is to add a bit of heat after the ink application. This secures the ink from moving around, in a way seals the ink in place.
The formulation of the inks allows them to stay fluid a bit longer than regular dye inks. Embossing powder adheres easily to the “wet” ink thus allowing the addition of texture.
The Frosty Pink Mixed Media Ink impression of the Feeling Dotty stencil impression is the perfect example of a combination of color and texture. This also repeats in the large stamped title (Mega Brush Alpha Stamp set) which adds that extra bit of texture to the page.
The Mixed Media inks create crisp and clean stamping images on your projects. Once again the formulation of the ink allows soft mixing of colors (We Stand with You stamp set, Courageous You stamp set) for a fun image. Come join me as i show you how this page came together in the following video. You can watch it here or in the Altenew Channel in HD:
I hope this inspires you to check the new Mixed Media inks and use them in all your crafting projects. You are going to love all the possibilities they offer.
