Create Easy Gift Tags Using Washi Tape

by Maryam Perez

Hey, crafty friends! This is Maryám and today I’m going to be sharing some ideas on how to create gorgeous gift tags using washi tapes and the super versatile Terrific Tags Die Set.

How-To:

To create the tags, I started by fussy cutting some floral images from the Wild Flora Washi Tape with the help of my fine tip scissors. This washi tape measures approximately 11.5″ inches wide- which makes it one of the widest washi tapes you will ever see! – and features different wildflowers in shades of yellow, amber, and navy.

In order to be able to fussy cut the washi tape, what I did was to adhere the washi tape onto a smooth sheet of white cardstock, and then, with the help of a plastic scraper tool, remove any air bubbles left.

Assembling the tags

The next step was to cut and assemble all the tags. To cut my tags, I used one of the biggest dies from the Terrific Tags Die Set. I simply put the tag die over a piece of white cardstock, add a little bit of washi tape to secure the die in place, and then run it through my Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine.

Now, to embellish the tags, I used some more washi tape! This time, I fussy cut some extra greenery elements from the Marsh Land Washi Tape, and also added bits of Golden Strokes and Many Dots Washi Tape behind the flowers.

Since I wanted to have some dimension on the tags, I decided to add the floral images using foam dots. And later I also added some Antique Gold – Sequins for extra texture.

Last, but not least, for the sentiment of the tags, I used the following phrases from the Floral Sprig Stamp Set which work for any occasion-

  • Thank You
  • Hello
  • Happy Birthday
  • You are Amazing

I hope you liked these ideas and I inspired you to create something new! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below and I’ll be really happy to answer them.

Have a wonderful day!
