Hey, crafty friends! Are you looking for some DIY ideas on how to decorate your home? Or perhaps a DIY gift for a loved one? Let me tell you something- you have come to the perfect post! This is Maryám, and today I’m going to be sharing with you how you can make two beautiful door signs using some of my favorite layering stamp sets from Altenew.
To create these door signs, I started by selecting two layering stamp sets that I knew would coordinate perfectly: Nature Blossoms Stamp Set and Fabulous Florets Stamp Set. Then, I grabbed a piece of white cardstock and some inks and stamped the flowers and leaves following the layering guide available on the stamp packaging.
I created three colors of flowers, red, yellow, and pink, and the ink colors I used are:
- Red Flower- Rouge and Crimson.
- Yellow Flower- Butternut and Yellow Ochre.
- Pink Flower- Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, and Cosmic Berry.
For one the center of the flowers I used: Butternut and Yellow Ochre, as well as, Chamomile and Marigold. Next, for the leaves, I used my favorite greens from the Green Fields Ink Set.
Once I had all the flowers and leaves ready, I fussy cut them leaving a small white border, and then added some foam adhesive on the back. This is because I wanted to have some dimension once we added the flowers to the actual base.
Now, to create the base for our signs, I used some chipboard and cut two circular pieces of about 5” inches in diameter. Following up, I decided that wanted to cover the chipboard piece, so I cut two circles out of white cardstock slightly bigger than my base. Before I adhere them in place, I added some extra texture by embossing them with the Geo Steps 3D Embossing Folder.
To finish up my signs, I decided to add some phrases from the Say It With Love Stamp Set that I stamped onto white cardstock with Obsidian Pigment Ink, and also a glitter “thanks” for which I used the Fancy Thanks Die Set.
Let's take a look at the finished signs!
That’s is it for today! I hope you enjoyed this post and inspired you to create something new. Now it’s your turn to create your own door sign! Once you finish, don’t forget to share it with us because we’d love to see it!
Hope you have an awesome day!
