Hello Altenew fans. Today I will be sharing four projects with created with the embossing folders from Altenew’s Quiet Reflections Release. Embossing folders are super easy to use and they are many crafting possibilities.
I used the Ornamental Feature 3D Embossing folder on two cards and the Angled Mosaic on my layout and pink card.
Let’s have a closer look at the Ornamental Feature 3D Embossing folder.
I started with a piece of A2 sized black cardstock. I inked up the hills of the embossing image with Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink and ran the folder through my machine. Depending on the machine you use, you will have to figure out which plates to use. I had to remove a plate.
Be careful not to get any ink on the flat surface as we don’t want any ink smudges to appear.
For my sentiment, I used the Handwritten Hello Die Set. I applied Enchanted Gold Ink onto some cardstock and cut out the word using the finest die from the set. This card is super easy to create and very elegant.
I created a variation on this card with some vellum. If you use vellum with these embossing folders make sure to use thicker vellum as the paper might “break/tear”.
I placed the embossed vellum onto some fuchsia pink card stock and added the same die like the previous card.
My last two projects were created with the Angled Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder. On my layout, I used it as a backdrop for my photo and blended some color onto it.
I also created some Fuschia embossed butterflies as embellishments. I love how the embossing folder adds subtle detail.
You can see how I created this project in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.
On my card, I once again added some ink before embossing. You will get a very subtle finish when doing so. I added leftover embellishments from my leftover bowl and added the same hello die.
I love using the same products on different projects. Then I put them away and work with a different selection.
Have you ever tried any of these techniques? What is your favorite way to use embossing folders?
Thank you so much for stopping by. Stay safe and happy scrapping.
