Hello friends! We have our first Guest Designer for October, please welcome Irina Fonina! She completed her Certification in 2018! She is one of our “older” Educators!
Get to know Irina
Hello, it’s Irina Fonina from Moscow, Russia. I've been teaching scrapbooking and cardmaking classes since 2014. In 2018 I became an Altenew Certified Educator. I enjoy exploring new creative techniques and sharing my ideas. I will be glad if you visit and follow my blog, Instagram profile, and YouTube channel.
Irina’s Clean and Simple Layout
I want to thank Altenew for having me as a guest designer today. I will be showing my new 12×12 layout. You can watch how this layout came together HERE.
I like the clean and simple look. Though you would be surprised to learn how many different products were used: dies, spray ink, washi tape, stamps, embossing powder, enamel dots. Can you spot them all on the layout? I will guide you.
The title was cut through a piece of cardstock with Linear Pathway Alpha – Outline Die Set. I thought that it would give a much better look rather than separate alphas glued on top. Journaling is continued by the date stamped with Invisible Numbers Stamp Set and heat embossed with Rose Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.
The leaves were die cut with some dies from Virginia Rose 3D Die Set. But first I sprayed the watercolor paper with Forest Glades Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray to make shimmery and splotchy paper to cut from. I find it much easier than to spray intricate die cuts.
Gold String Washi Tape went behind other elements to complement the background. Enamel Dots completed the layout. It is always easy to find coordinating colors for your project from the variety of Enamel Dots that Altenew offers.
I hope you liked my project! And I encourage you to try new products and new ways to use them! Please check out my video HERE.
Irina caught us by surprise when she submitted a gorgeous, clean, and simple layout! We really thought we will be getting to see her grungy mixed media work! But what a happy surprise! We do love that pop of coral against all the green and white, and the addition of washi tape as an accent. Don't we?! We hope you will guest design for us again really soon!
If you want to have a look at the wide variety of Irina's work, please check out her blog, Instagram, and YouTube channel. And don't forget to leave her a comment here about her project. We are sure she would love to know your thoughts!
Thank you for stopping by!
