Hi there!
Nathalie with you today to share a bit of washi tape magic for your next memory-keeping layout. There is such a large collection of washi tapes in the Altenew shop. They are, probably, one of the easiest and quickest ways to add a pop of color and interest to your memory keeping. There is so much you can do with these little rolls, and today we are going to use them to weave a background.
Washi tapes – especially the slim washi tape sets – are a great way to bring a rainbow to your pages. I am choosing to create a frame within my page by running the tapes in diagonal lines through the entire layout.
The angle that the washi tapes create in each of the frame corners is the perfect place to add more interest. I am making an accent with the angles by weaving the washi tapes. This weaved look defines the background, and also creates the perfect placement for each element in the page.
The lines between the woven corners are the perfect spot for the photos. The empty quadrant below the photos is perfect to add your journaling.
The polygon shape of washi tapes allows for an easy way to balance the page. In this case, the title (Tiny Sentiments: Hello Stamp Die Bundle, Gold Foil Polka Dot Washi Tape) follows the same direction of the pictures; while the flowers (Sisters of the Heart Stamp/Die Bundle) add movement and match the colors of the pictures.
All that is left is to add a pop of color with enamel dots. These also help to add movement and break the monotony of the straight lines of the design. You can see the page come together in the upcoming video. Watch it here, or visit the Altenew YouTube Channel to watch in HD
