Hello Altenew friends! It's Reiko here, excited to be joining you today! I'm sharing a few coloring tips using alcohol based markers. This is the project that I came up with using Altenew's brand new Alcohol Marker Sets and Coloring Sheets.

January was somewhat a hectic month for me, and I couldn't find time to sit down for a few hours and create scrapbook projects. So I was really glad to have this Whimsical Flower Bunch Coloring Sheets and the two new color sets of Alcohol Markers from the recent Altenew release. I spend some calming moments coloring whenever I had time without thinking of any techniques or making pretty stuff.

Coloring Tips for Using Alcohol Based Markers

Before I will share some tips, I really want to tell you that you don't need to worry about how to color smoothly with the Alcohol Markers. By using these 6×6 -inch coloring sheets, I've been able to color smoothly without any techniques!

Tip 1 – How to Create a Shadow

To create a shadow, I use only one color. First, color a surface evenly.  Then, add the second and third layers with the same color.

Tip 2 – How to Create a Light

To create a shiny spot, use the white glitter pen from the Must-have Gel Pen Set and simply add some lines or dots. For the flower core in the picture above, I used both tips 1 and 2 in a small area.

I really hope my projects have given you some ideas and tips for using alcohol based markers on your handmade projects!

Thanks so much for joining me today!

‘Til next time!

-Reiko
