Hello, Altenew fans. Today, I will be sharing a new layout and video with you showcasing the Mega Ampersand Die. I will show you how to create your custom stencil to make a fun background!
For this layout I used the following supplies:
- Mega Ampersand Die
- Lavender Fields, Fuchsia, and Aqualicious inks
- Mini Blending Brushes
- Mini Blossom Die Cut Machine
- You Are Everything Stamp and Die Set
How to Create a Custom Stencil With a Die:
- Cut out the Ampersand and keep the little leftover die piece. I used a card-sized piece of cardstock.
- Place the cardstock from which the ampersand was cut as well as the middle section piece onto some white 8.5×11-inch cardstock and blend the three shades of ink over the shape. To keep the little piece from the middle of the ampersand from moving, I used some tape runner, which can easily be pulled off, to keep it from moving.
- Add as many ampersands as you like.
- Cut out two extra shapes. I used the cover paper from a 6×6 paper pack (Gel Printing: Soft Washes).
- Stamp the YOU ARE using the same shades as those used for the blending. Cut the two words out with the coordinating dies.
- Place your photo.
- Add the cutout ampersands and adhere with foam tape.
- Pop on the title and stamp two extra sentiments.
This fun technique can easily be used for a card or mixed media project. You can use a variety of dies for this technique. Leaf shapes, hearts, or butterflies would look wonderful.
