Winter Crocus Stamp & Die & Stencil Bundle

The new Winter Crocus Stamp & Die & Stencil Bundle is the perfect element to create a winter inspired layout. Let me show you some of the details.
Use Cool Colors
Usually, we tend to identify colors with weather seasons. I am using a cooler palette for my flowers to bring the cooler feeling of winter to the page. The Blossom Branch 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set provides the color for the flowers in this spread. The bright and saturated tones make the flowers pop from the more neutral colors of the background.
Add a Touch of Winter
Winter – especially here in Canada – means snow, like in the photos! In order to create a winter inspired memory keeping layout, I went looking for a large die-cut that could give me a snowflake shape.
I am using the Delicate Mandala Die to create the background for the picture. Since the background is white, my choice of material for the mandala is a piece of Yupo paper that was colored with Altenew Alcohol inks.
Add Texture and Shine
If you have experienced heavy snowfall, then you know that glistening effect it creates — like scattered glitter all over the ground.
I am bringing a bit of that texture and shine to my page by creating the title of the spread from Silver Glitter Gradient Cardstock: Diamond. The combination of the white-on-white script word (All About You Word Die Set) and the soft purple offset behind the Fine Alphabet die-cuts add texture and shine to the page.
Add “White” Space
A winter inspired memory keeping layout needs to evoke the feeling of whiteness that you see after a snowfall. I am adding quite a bit of negative, “white”, space throughout my page.
First, I am adding extra photos to one of the pockets, but I am making them smaller so that they can be framed with white space around them.
Now, “white” space does not need to be white. The term refers to negative space (blank space). I am choosing to also frame the large photo spread with a soft tone of mauve cardstock. This paper helps add a sense of space, ties the journal card to the spread, and frames the image.
