DIY Traveler’s Notebook by Rosie Neustaedter – October 2022 Guest Designer

by Altenew

Hi Altenew friends! It's a lovely day today to share a fun project by our talented October Guest Designer, Rosie Neustaedter. Rosie is not new to the Altenew Mixed Blog; she has shared lovely projects as our Guest Designer before. And we are sure you have caught her teaching at the Altenew Retreats too! She will share a DIY Mini Traveler's Notebook with us today. But first, let's hear it from Rosie!

Get to know Rosie

Hello from Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Papercrafting has become a passion after being introduced to scrapbooking 20+ years ago! Scrapbooking is my first love, but cardmaking is now a very, very close second. I fell in love with Altenew products the moment I saw them, and it was a huge thrill to be among the first group of applicants accepted to the AECP program. I completed my certification in January 2019.

Rosie's DIY Mini Traveler's Notebook

I love to add to my papercrafting toolbox, and this DIY mini traveler's notebook was fun and, more importantly, EASY to make!

Watch the video for all the measurements and a step-by-step walkthrough of creating the inserts and the cover!

Here is a photo of the inserts; they measure approximately 6” tall x 3” wide. Each insert is made from one 12×12 piece of paper with top and side pockets. I’ve used paper from the Celebrate 12×12 Paper Pack and the Our Family 12×12 Paper Pack.

The notebook cover is created with thin cardboard from a potato chip box and Altenew Dreamy Bouquet Fabric.

This will be perfect to use with 3×4 photos printed with my mini printer, and I’ll be able to get lots of photos and journaling in it!

AMAZING, Rosie!! We love your DIY Traveler's Notebook and especially love how you mix and match Altenew products! The fabric matches so well with the papers. Can't wait to watch the video and make one! Thank you so much for being our guest designer for October; we hope to see you here again soon with an even more interesting project!
